Is your weight putting you at risk?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a way to measure your health risk.  The higher your BMI, the higher your risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, estrogen imbalance, metabolism syndrome and diabetes.

To find your BMI:

1.  Click on the colored chart to your left to enlarge.
   2.  Find your height along the left side of the chart.
   3.  Move across the row to the right until you find your weight.
At the top of this column is your BMI.
   4.  If your BMI is 25 or high ask your healthcare practitioner about
the connection between your BMI and possible health risks.

Health and fitness can be regained at any age with self-motivation, commitment and education.  Our program focuses on training the client in the necessary physical and nutritional lifestyle changes needed to insure permanent weight loss and weight maintenance.

Weight Loss & Nutritional Counseling

Ninety nine percent (99%) of the clients we counsel want to loose the extra weight and fat stores that have crept on over the years, so they can look and feel better about themselves and life! Yet an ever growing number of clients seek nutrition and weight loss counseling because they want to lower their risk to disease and joint disorders.

This is NOT a low-calorie, low fat diet program, but one based on moderation of calories, proteins, fats and  carbohydrates supported by current Sports Nutrition Science.  Your favorite foods are incorporated into your food choices, for this plan encourages life style changes that are both long lasting and pleasurable.

This program emphasizes the reduction in body fat  vs the reduction in body weight.  Weight will drop, yet one often loses more inches than pounds, and the result is a firmer and leaner body that is sizes smaller.  Regular body composition tests and body measurements are the success indicators vs the bathroom scale.

The success to losing and keeping off unwanted pounds includes learning how much food (calories) your body needs to stay healthy,  and how much exercise you need to maintain lean body mass.

According to a recent report in USA Today, when men and women diet without strength training, about 25%-30% of the weight they lose is from water, muscle, bone and other important lean tissue, while the body fat often stays on the body.  Ironically, dieting can actually reduce your body’s ability to burn fat, as the loss of lean muscle causes your metabolic rate to drop, meaning  that you burn fewer calories.  What’s worse, your energy is depleted as well.  Engaging in exercise is one of the three most important things you can do to guarantee good health (the two others are eating a healthful diet and finding ways to reduce stress). Aerobic exercise and weight training are excellent for reducing excess body fat.

Getting your exercise program started is the key to your weight loss program.  Most clients are best served, motivated and receive the education they need through the gym of their choice.   Your time with a Personal Trainer can help to tailor a program to fit your schedule, interests and fitness level.  The cost is well worth it!  You need great discipline to work out of your home, so seek out a Personal Trainer to get you started and help advise you on what equipment you need to invest in.  Get your doctor’s approval before beginning exercise.

Your Holistic Healing and Health Nutrition Specialist, Deborah Marcantoni, can tailor your personal counseling and support to meet your needs.  Some clients need the minimum of 2-3 contact hours, while some want the support of weekly 1 hour contact sessions for a period of time.

Still other clients couple their nutrition counseling with personal exercise training &/or Energetic Therapy to help them transform emotional issues which trigger eating binges &/or diminish their self confidence and self respect.  Deborah is also a Certified Personal Trainer, Energetic Therapist and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner.  Your personal exercise program can be tailored to allow your exercise program to be at home or at the gym of your choice.  You decide how much assistance you think you will need in getting your exercise program established so it can make a difference to your health and well being.

Your energetic treatment also focuses on your own personal needs and issues, and much of the transformation can occur with or without the client sharing private personal issues. You are in charge of you’re your healing energetic treatment and can guide Deborah to establish what needs to happen and when.  Clients who receive more than one treatment report the most profound results.
